                     NOTICE OF HEARING

HB 2172   RELATING TO GOVERNMENT                     LAB/EDB, JHA
       Requires bidders for printing and advertising services
       to file a sworn statement with the director of labor
       and industrial relations that the services to be
       performed will be performed under certain conditions.
       Establishes penalties for violating this requirement.

HB 2168   RELATING TO LABOR                          LAB/EDB, FIN
       Ensures that employees who are unemployed due to a
       labor dispute shall not be disqualified for
       unemployment benefits if the parties have reached an
       impasse and prior to a work stoppage an offer is made
       to submit the dispute to binding arbitration.




 
HB 2564   RELATING TO EMPLOYMENT SECURITY            LAB/EDB, FIN
       Extends the sunset date of the employment and training
       fund program through December 31, 2005.

HB 2919   RELATING TO HEALTH CARE COVERAGE           LAB/EDB, FIN
       Removes the provision limiting, to 1.5% of an
       employee's wages, an employee's contribution toward
       healthcare premiums for coverage required under the
       Act, and replaces it with the requirement that the
       employee's contribution shall not reduce the employee's
       wages to less than the minimum wage.

HB 2984   RELATING TO MINIMUM WAGE                   LAB/EDB, FIN
       Raises the minimum wage to $5.75 and increases
       incrementally based on the value of the dollar based on
       the average annual consumer price index for the State
       of Hawaii.

HB 2552   RELATING TO MINIMUM WAGE                   LAB/EDB, FIN
       Increases the minimum wage.

HB 1829   RELATING TO LIVING WAGES                        LAB,FIN
       Establishes the living wages law which applies to
       service and labor contracts.  Requires employers to pay
       employees a wage no less than the hourly rates set
       under this law.
